Our Festival & What We're All About!

MOVING IMAGE is the first film festival that focuses on the genres of film as a study and  welcomes
experimentation  with the "clash" or "fusion" of different genres. Our focus is to find new and
innovative films that push the envelope by altering the way we view films today.

We are inclined to observe the experimentation of moving images with sound and other
lighting/multimedia effects. This corresponds with our Festival's thematic exploration.  Our
"Moving
Image"
showcase is open to all film-makers who enjoy experimenting with moving images as a
practice. Sub-categories for this particular event will involve interactive media, experimentation in film,
animated films and media installations.

Our showcases will explore various genres of film as we will be focusing on finding work that is rich in
provocative and intellectual content. Our organization is always open to new ideas as we expect to
see great merit put forth in the cinematic and technical practice in each of our film selections. We
always like to recognize the hard work that certain craftsmen put into the creation of their films. Let's
give them the credit and recognition that they deserve!

All have specialty awards given with every major film awarded in our annual festival. We believe  the
talent that fuels the production of all films should be acknowledged and awarded. As a result
each
"specialist winner" will have their name listed on our plaque of achievements as they will also be
awarded a secondary prize for their efforts.

Other Genres and Categories

As part of our mission, Moving Image is proud to offer a number of categories  that will  explore
different genres/sub-genres. Each year, Moving Image will comprise a number of categories to be
explored.  Categories will be based and created upon popular trends and movements which are
constantly arising in the film and media world. Suggestions are always welcome as you can
contact
us
at any time. Furthermore, the category awards for "Best Feature Film" and "Best Short Film"
are also open to those who may feel their films do not fit into one of our selected categories. In
essence all films are accepted to participate (if merit and value is met to Moving Image standards.)
